Socorro is the CEO and sole owner of Toro Construction Corp, a self-performing MBE/DBE/FBE general and carpentry contractor.
As the Chief Executive Officer, Socorro’s responsibilities include developing new business markets, implementing high-level strategies, managing the overall operations and resources of the company with final say in all corporate decisions. As the CEO, it is imperative that she lead by example by exercising the five critical components of safety leadership, including field presence, effective communication, feedback, accountability and disciplinary action. Ownership understands that it is critical in keeping EMR rates, OSHA recordable and zero incident philosophy.
Socorro studied construction management at Westwood College. She completed her classes with a 4.0 GPA. Previously, Socorro studied legal assistance and business management and has 20 years’ experience in that field.
